The UNITA module is an autonomous, high-volume mobile swab-collection station, with fast automatic disinfection of the patient chamber. UNITA stands for “UNItà prelievo TAmponi” (“Swab Collection Unit” and also “Unity”) in Italian, as well as “UNIT-A” in English. The name is also inspired by “Kid A”, the fourth studio album by the English rock band Radiohead (released in October 2000), in which songwriter Thom Yorke envisioned a radical change in direction from their previous albums. We believe that controlling the spread of the COVID-19 infection also requires a radical change in direction.
